Trauma Special Interest Group
OBJECTIVE
The aim of this web page is to improve communication with all Fellows about the aims, objectives and activities of the Trauma SIG.
|
Trauma is a leading cause of death and disability worldwide, often requiring complex care from many medical, nursing and allied health professionals. Anaesthetists can be involved in trauma teams throughout the patient journey, from the roadside (PHRM), through in-hospital resuscitation and stabilisation, surgical interventions, critical care and acute and persistent pain services.
The Trauma SIG exists to co-ordinate resources, provide education and deliver updates to anaesthetists who care for trauma patients as part of their regular clinical work, those who are occasionally required to deal with severe trauma, and those who have a developing interest in working in trauma anaesthesia.
