As its name suggests, the History of Anaesthesia Special Interest Group is primarily concerned with researching and presenting the history of anaesthesia.

Members of the History of Anaesthesia SIG are invited to contribute to the ASA's Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Journal's History Supplement, which is an annual publication.

MEMBERSHIP
Membership will be of two types:
Members: Fellows of ANZCA, or Ordinary Members of the ASA or NZSA who have a special interest in (HA SIG) anaesthesia.
Associate members: People with a special interest in (HA SIG) anaesthesia who are not entitled to be full members. They may include Associate Members of the ASA or NZSA, registered Trainees of ANZCA, allied health professionals or members of other related professional organisations.
Associate Members may only be admitted to membership after nomination by two full members of the SIG and approval by majority at a meeting of the Executive Committee of the SIG.
