Airway Resources in Australasian Anaesthesia
Australasian Anaesthesia (the “Blue Book”) is a biennial publication of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists and will be familiar to the majority of SIG members. Articles are sourced from New Zealand and all Australian states as well as the College of Intensive Care Medicine and the Faculty of Pain Medicine. Topics are wide-ranging but will
only be included if they are of interest to anaesthetists. Alongside the standard subjects that pertain to our practice, articles on medical education, medico-legal matters, examination techniques, health management and even veterinary anaesthesia have been included.

The Blue Book relies on a team of regional and specialty editors and an ANZCA publications manager to bring it to publication. All FANZCA and FFPMANZCA specialists receive a digital version of Australasian Anaesthesia or, by request, a hard-copy. The most recent edition has also been distributed to six anaesthesia colleges outside of Australasia.

It should come as no surprise that articles on airway management or equipment feature prominently in the Blue Book. Indeed, airway-related articles are featured first in the book. In the accompanying table, airway articles and their authors are shown from the 2009 edition to the most recent edition (2017).
